I'm hoping that some day the WP Team. or maybe some clever plugin developer, will enable the Media Library to utilize even a basic folder/directory system.

As the number of images (et al.) in our Library grows it becomes increasingly ponderous to wade through ALL the files looking for something I can't remember the name of.

Doug, if there are images or icons that you're inserting in each post you might consider adding those to your theme. It's a bit more work to setup, but you'll save a lot of time in the long run as you won't need to insert the images each time you post something new.

I can't understand why the Media Library doesn't allow you to save the URL Link. If you have an image saved in your library that you want to insert into a variety of posts, wouldn't it make sense that you'd want the image to link to the same URL in each one? Right now, every time i insert an image -- specifically I use icons that get inserted into every post -- I have to manually re-enter the link URL.

Can't there be a simple update to the Media Manager that resolves this issue? Right now you can only save a pre-set link like "File URL" or "Post URL". It makes no sense that you can't save a specific link URL with an image.

Is there any plugin that addresses this issue? Thx.

This is a good idea. Some of the wordpress tutorials are quite complex so a video based training platform would be excellent.
